The global automotive terminals and logistics provider have entered the German market effective June 2025 through its German subsidiary Horizon Auto Logistics GmbH. The company is controlled by Horizon Global Holdings and LPL Automotive GmbH, who have entered into a joint-venture agreement expanding the business in the largest European automotive market.
Germany is home to some of the most prestigious car manufacturers, such as Porsche, Mercedes Benz (Daimler), BMW and the VW Group amongst others. The automotive industry contributes significantly to Germany’s GDP. Annual production is around 4.1M passenger cars and 350,000 commercial vehicles, of which about 3.1M passenger cars are exported. Annual imports of new cars are about 1.8M units.

The company will initially focus on building a strategy to implement their total logistics approach from manufacturing to dealer networks and end-buyers. Particularly the Control Tower product will greatly enhance customers’ ability to manage their supply chains in a cost-efficient manner, optimizing output and facilitating decision making to avoid network disruptions.
Horizon Auto Logistics operates in 10 markets globally, employing 650 people and handles about 1.25M vehicles and 2,000 equipment’s annually. It provides complete supply chain services for finished vehicles, which includes vessel cargo-handling, port operations, yard operations and distribution centers, VPC and EPC (technical) services, inland transportation, distribution management, including control tower services and plant logistics.
