Preventing over 60 tons of greenhouse gases

The Puente Villa Rica – PVR photovoltaic power plant commenced operations in January 2023, featuring 140 boards with a power generation capacity of 7 MWh. This energy can sustain the illumination of approximately 70,000 lamps of 100 W for one hour under optimal solar irradiation conditions.
By December 2023, the plant had generated over 91 MW, 44% higher than the corresponding energy consumption of 63 MW during the same period.

Properly sizing the solar energy system is crucial to meet consumption needs, especially during periods of reduced sunlight, such as in winter. It is common for the system to produce more energy than is consumed in certain months, creating a surplus that can be stored in batteries or transmitted to the grid.
Solar energy producers stand to benefit from compensation for surplus energy sent to the grid and can receive credits to incentivize solar electricity generation.

Beyond economic advantages, the plant’s operations have prevented the emission of over 60 tons of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, contributing positively to environmental sustainability.
